Community Defibrillator

Newsham Parish Council has installed a community defibrillator in the village for use by the public on individuals suffering a sudden cardiac arrest. This device is accessible 24 hours a day and was installed due to ambulance response time concerns in rural locations such as Newsham Village.

What is a defibrillator?

A defibrillator is a potentially life-saving device which delivers an electrical current that shocks the heart back into a normal rhythm following a sudden cardiac arrest. They are safe and easy to use.

Where is it located?

The device is located on the front wall of the Village Hall, opposite the main car park entrance gate.

Important information

In the event of an emergency dial 999 to request an ambulance to the location required. To remove the defibrillator from the cabinet, pull the handles on either side. An alarm will sound when the doors open but will go off once the doors are closed again.

You do not need to be trained to use this equipment. The device will talk you through what you need to do, but please remember to dial 999 to request an ambulance.
